Barca have won all their opening matches and have successfully avenged two humiliating Catalan derby defeats by Girona last season with an emphatic victory at Montilivi.

Lamine Yamal’s first-half brace sent Barcelona on their way with Dani Olmo and Pedri adding further goals after the first-half break.

The teenage wonderkid was simply too good for Girona, as he scored a brilliant brace in a 4-1 win against the third-placed finishes Girona.

Barca may well expect a tricky trip to Girona, given the champions league last season, but inspired by Lamine Yamal, they ran riot.

On the half-time, Barcelona found a way through, thanks to wonderkid Yamal, who robbed defender David Lopez on the edge of his own box, turned and finished coolly.

Just exactly six minutes later he scored the second one making it a brace for him. He curled an effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, through a clutch of Girona bodies.

Lamine Yaamal was named man of the match, he well deserves it because he completely stole the show in the first half, netting two quick-fire goals shortly after the half-time to put Hansi Flick’s side ahead and in control.

He is the younger player to feature in El Classico and the youngest player to score a brace in La Liga and the first player ever to achieve this record under the age of 17.

In the champions league, he became the second youngest player to feature in the cup (behind Youssoufa Moukoko), the second player named in starting line-up and the youngest player to play in the knockout phase.
