Hospital: National Obstetric Fistula Centre Ebonyi (NOFIC)
Originally established for obstetric fistula care, NOFIC has expanded into a tertiary training facility with all four major departments functional and an ongoing residency program. However, O&G remains the busiest department with the highest case exposure.

Good afternoon. I must really appreciate this. It is and eye opener and guide to helping new doctors make a choice on their house job placement. Howbeit, some facilities were poorly talked about, in the sense, that the information does not really help or convince to make a choice about the place eg University of calabar teaching hospital

Please can you review general hospital Isolo ?
GH Isolo is under HSC ( Health Service Commission) in Lagos, it is one out of the 5 general hospitals under HSC that does housemanship.
The others are the general hospitals in Gbagada, Alimosho, Odan and Ikorodu. There are rumors that some other centres have been approved for HJ but they haven’t kick-started it yet.
You will do all your postings in GH Isolo.
Accommodation: Accommodation is free and its located inside the Hospital premises. There are 2 quarters. One is a 3 storey building that has flats and 4 persons share a flat+ 1 person in the “master bedroom”.
The others are single rooms in blocks, Blocks A,B and block C is also a 3 storey block of rooms
In the flats the Master bedroom has it’s own Bathroom and toilet, while 2 rooms share a bathroom and toilet.
The single rooms have their toilet, bathroom and kitchen inside them.
UPSIDE: The working environment is friendly; doctors and other staffs respect one another. Non-toxic work environment, opportunity to get hands-on experience.
Doctors don’t routinely give IV drugs (just labetalol, MgSO4, Aminophylline)
The hospital makes use of EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
SALARY: #373,000 Monthly (Highest so far)
FOOD- There is a canteen within the Hospital, there are places to buy food (mama put) as well as eateries that sell very affordable and nice meals
